Ashwoods Axial Flux motors are permanent magnet, brushless AC motors that power a range of applications at both low volumes and high volumes in specialist markets. These motors incorporate a unique stator and rotor design with surface mounted permanent magnets to deliver high power at efficiencies far superior to high-performing induction motors. This lightweight and compact design contributes to the motors’ extremely high torque density. This, coupled with its excellent direct transmission drive characteristics, makes it ideal for high power and torque applications.
The Axial flux motor range includes the Elmo-S (air cooled) and Elmo-D (liquid cooled) motors that suit a wide array of applications dependent on power requirements.
Ashwoods Axial Flux motors' design is compact, lightweight, and scalable, producing exceptional levels of performance across the entire Elmo range of motors. This technology, previously used to hybridize vehicles, has now been applied across the automotive, marine, off-highway and oil and gas industry.
The peak torque produced ranges from 45Nm to 160Nm. The peak power ranges from 10kW to 60kW. Coupled with industry leading efficiencies up to 4000rpm, these motors excel within the automotive, marine and off-way industries.
